We’ve shifted the business from growth mode to profitability (Read the three-part story -

Part III), and we’re looking for an all-star D2C growth operator to get us back to a growth track, with an eye on selling the brand in 2025.

This role is a unique opportunity to:
- Build a business alongside experienced bootstrapped entrepreneur Jesse Pujji (
Linkedin/
X). You’ll meet with him weekly, he’ll coach you 1:1 and you'll grow as a leader.
- Get exposure to and support working inside
Gateway X (a venture studio meets holding company)
- Take the reigns of an established e-commerce brand and drive key decisions
- Make a name for yourself with little downside and a lot of growth/upside as we build the business to sell in the near term
- Work in a flexible, part-time leadership role (10-20 hrs/week). You could be a current/former MBA, former startup d2c founder in transition, or a contractor who has eCommerce leadership / operational experience

- Proven track record (>5 years experience) in growth marketing with a strong focus on ROI and ROAS optimization across paid channels like Facebook, TikTok, and Google.
- You’re excited by a career transition, poised to climb the leadership ladder, and eager for new experiences at the helm of a D2C startup
- Hands-on experience managing digital ad campaigns, with the ability to execute strategy, organize campaigns, analyze performance, and iterate for maximum efficiency.
- Proficient in Amazon, affiliate, and email marketing, with a demonstrated ability to optimize listings, manage inventory, and create effective email campaigns that drive revenue.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience in managing cash flow, budgeting, and financial forecasting for a business.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, capable of aligning teams, driving performance, and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to innovate, solve problems, and make data-driven decisions to enhance business outcomes.
- Bonus points: You are located in Saint Louis, MO or are willing to travel here occasionally
What will be expected of you 🤝
- Own and drive new revenue growth towards >$100k monthly profit, with a focus on optimizing New Customer ROAS across Facebook, TikTok, and Google channels to >2.0.
- Develop and execute strategies for paid social and search campaigns, working hands-on to manage spend, analyze results, and adjust tactics to achieve business goals.
- Oversee Amazon and email channels, optimizing product listings, managing inventory, and creating promotional email campaigns that increase sales and customer retention.
- Lead the creation of email marketing strategies, coordinating with creative teams to develop content that resonates with the target audience and meets KPIs.
- Manage the business’s financial health, including cash flow management, budgeting, and financial forecasting to ensure sustainable growth.
- Oversee daily operations team-mates, including customer service, inventory management, and team coordination, ensuring smooth business processes and a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Provide leadership and alignment to the team, facilitating regular meetings and updates on key metrics, performance reviews, and encouraging open communication and creative problem-solving.
